The CFS is the United Nations' forum for reviewing policies concerning world food. It is the most inclusive international and intergovernmental platform for all relevant stakeholders to work together to ensure food security and nutrition.
Location: New York, US
The first DCF held in 2008 went a long way in establishing the Forum as the focal point within the UN system & as a principal forum for global dialogue & policy review on the effectiveness & coherence of international development cooperation. The objective of the 2010 DCF is to produce agreement on priority issues for action that are based on practical outcomes. In the current financial crisis & its implications for the global aid architecture, the work of the DCF has taken on greater urgency.
